As long as you dont get caught you dont have to pay tax.

But really it can be as low as S$3.50 (custom + excess) per liter of Beer or S$70 for Liquor.

You are allow to bring in 1 bottle liquor and 1 bottle wine from duty free shop at the airport without having to pay tax

I can't give you a dollar value due for excess but I've got friends who bring wine back when they visit Australia and even when paying the Duty they find it cheaper than buying the same product in Singapore.
