How do we remove the crankcase from the block? Does the block seperate or how do we remove it

If the engine is out of the car, turn it with the crankshaft facing up. All of the bearings are in a carrier connected to the block. After you get the 10-12 (I can't remember) bolts out of the carrier, you will be able to remove it...the lower main bearings will stay in the carrier. After the carrier is removed, you will be able to just lift out the crankshaft. Don't worry, it took me a while to figure it out, too. ;) So basically, yes, the block separates.

Of course your engine is out of the car? Start by removing the transmission and then the engine Or dropping the entire powertrain out the bottom. Then I reccomend a complete new/used motor. Because by the time you send everything out for pressure testing amd valve job and new pistons and bearings that will take a month. You have to ask your self Do I need a New car and the payments or blow $3,000 on this 12 year old car that is worth?

you have to remove the Engine that's the only way. or remove the tranny. It's sill a lot of work
