I recently moved from Lowell Mass to Manchester NH... personally i like NH... Lower crime rate, lower rent, no income tax, WAAAAYYYY lower insurance ( i saved almost a grand this year on that alone) biggest disadvantage is when u need something in mass/have fam/friends there

I live in Massachusetts. As of right now I would seriously consider living in NH. The cons of living here, are the mandatory expensive health insurance required by law, if you don't get it, you will face financial penalties. This gives employers a way to offer you health insurance but now they will ask you to pay more for it. The extremely high property taxes, very high car insurance if you live in a city. The food the people, and the environment are great. NH has no sales tax, and insurance is either really low, or not required, I know many people like it better over there because of that. So financially NH is better, when it comes to environment, and entertainment, Mass is better, plus we have the Red Sox :)

Here is a site where you can compare the cost of living between both cities.
http://www.coli.org/
Of course, New Hampshire would be colder in the winter than Massachusetts. Boston of course is not a slow paced town. I would prefer New Hampshire.

it depends what you want. there are less taxes in new hampshire, its is over all less crowded, and we are close to the ocean and the mountians
mass has higher taxes, and is more populated. if you like living in the city i would choose mass. if you want to live near the city try southern new hampshire. if you want nothing to do with the city, most of central or northern area is pretty remote, same with parts of massachusettes.

i would say, in Mass, but close to NH. New Hampshire has really high property tax, but no sales tax. You could just hop over the border to buy stuff, and save money. MA's downfall is its drivers. Massachusetts drivers are insane, and very angry. Have you ever heard the term "Massholes"? MA also has the Cape, and NH has Hampton.

Depends on what area. City, rural, etc.
NH has no state taxes and is less built-up than MA, with lakes and ski areas and much natural beauty. It snows more in NH, too.
MA has some pretty areas, but big cities like Boston are expensive as far as housing goes.
My cousin lives in NH and likes it.

Never lived in either but have traveled to both several times. I like NH better, it's prettier I like the people and it's very peaceful.
