I just bought a Madagascar Iguana (that was the name told by the salesman). I read on the internet that Iguanas ar naturaly Herbivourus animals, but that dude told me to feed him worms, maggots and chicken meat. I first tried some carrots and some cabbage...then some cheese and some meat. Nothing Worked. My Iguana does not look interested in any of does . I really dont want to start feeding him maggots and worms. What should I do? I will contact a vet tomorow, but the poor litle guy dint eat for like 24+ h.

I'm afraid that the species that you have is not herbivorous, at best he may take some vegetation but he does require insects, worms etc. This species has the common name of iguana but it is not the herbivorous green iguana that is so prevalent in the pet trade. Give him a day or two to settle in without being handled and then offer some crickets, large mealworms or earthworms. Perhaps, if you just got him, you could return him for something that has a diet you are more comfortable dealing with.
