They hate her on principle, because she's a liberal.

Is this rational, or is it a sign that they're knee-jerk hystericals who can't use reason?

tenthamend: It's the same sort of behavior that you guys would and have tolerated from the right wing for decades, so you're really going to have to do better than that.

regerugged: I said "Y!A neocon," for one thing, and for another, I didn't classify you, personally, as anything, so stop being so defensive and try actually answering the question I asked.

danzahn: The fact that you don't know what the job of the Speaker of the House is, does not make Pelosi a liar or a failure. One member of Congress has no more or less power than any other. She is simply the person who runs the sessions. That's all. She doesn't dictate policy.

danzahn: No, she's NOT the boss. She can't hire people, she can't fire people, she has no cabinet, she has no more authority over policy than ANY OTHER MEMBER OF CONGRESS. She simply presides over the meetings. As in, "Here's the agenda for this meeting and we need to stick with it." That has NOTHING to do with what Congress actually gets done. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Yes I noticed that.Nothing rational about it.
American conservatism as I see it depends heavily on anti intellectualism which explains why they don't bring idea's to the table. There might be a group who really believe all the fear mongering and we can really only feel bad for them but most seem hung up on populism no doubt fueled in them by right wing hate radio and fox news.

Wow so we are the uninformed uneducated but somehow all the libs have just resorted to namecalling on this board instead of actually reading the reasons we dont like Pelosi. She is a San Francisco liberal. She is against gun rights (2nd amendment), against free speech with the Fairness Doctrine trying to be reborn in the house (1st amendment), she wants a plane comparable to Air Force One (anti environmental), she met with the leader of Syria (Speaker of the House under the constitution does not craft foreign policy), it seems to me and these answers are only off the top of my head I am sure if I cared to research it (which I don't) she is kind of anti-constitution. We don't hate her we just hate her policies. We are not the ones suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome to where we arbitrarilly write off everything conservative because we hate Bush and Bush is a supposed conservative. We don't resort to namecalling, or even ridiculing and calling people uneducated and uninformed. We just state that we don't agree with that person's policies. Really most of the liberal posts on this question have illustrated a sort of uninformed knee jerk reaction that you yourself were wondering about when you asked this question.

"One member of Congress has no more or less power than any other. She is simply the person who runs the sessions. That's all."

Yeah, right.

If you've ever chaired a political committee you'd realize the power of setting the agenda.

-private jet environmentalism
-$20 billion in pork to sell the war to the 'anti-war' party
-not even six months in before federal spending benefits her personal investments
-minimum wage inflationary policy
-health insurance for upper-middle class children, paid for by a regressive cigarette tax that hurts the poor most
-takes big contributions from oil companies and pretends she'll fight them (yet her page on reducing oil costs is absurd, it only lists a dozen new ways to spend money)

She's just a hypocrite like any other politician who gets to a high position.

I was actually glad to see what I thought was going be be change at the last election. Pelosi has done nothing since being elected, that is why I dis like her, not because she is liberal, because she is a liar. How bout those poll numbers, they don't lie.

Questioner: Pelsoi is in charge so she is the one that gets the blame if they do nothing. Thats how being the boss works. You take the praise if you get things accomplished, you take the blame if things don't go as planned.

Nah....It couldn't be all thepromises she made for her first 100 days in office....
Bush impeahed. War over, oil under $3 a gallon, not ONE piece of legislatin passed....
Other than that, gosh. In the words of Hillary "It is a right wing conspiracy:
Oh, and befpre you claim Bush will veto anything, perhaps she should actually rry a BINDING resolution.
After all Reagan got his work done with a majority of Democrats in congress.
History is a good subject. Try reading it sometime.

How about the scandal about her, her husband, and the tuna canning factory comes to mind.
What about her DEMANDING the largest military aircraft at her disposal 24/7?
And what about all the b.s. about her hotels and winery, demanding protection for unions, but unions aren't allowed at her businesses?
And lets not forget her hiring of illegals at her winery.
Is this enough, or should we get into her politics?

Oh, I can give you a reason. Every time Nancy approves of anything, it's bad for the country and directly opposes common sense. Any way, her approval rating has dropped to only 16 percent, so she'll probably be gone soon.

I am a conservative, not a "neo-con." You are not using that pejorative correctly.
I don't hate Nancy Pelosi. I am opposed to everything she stands for. I disagree with her politics, completely. Nothing she advocates is good for citizens of the US. You wrote one thing correctly: she is a liberal.

So you think that Pelosi trying to get her own 747 jet, paid for by the taxpayers, was something to be admired? Apart from the hubris, is that the "green" way to go?
