Welll, like before that guy died who was the leader? In the beginning? Was Freddie Mercury?

I guess he is now. Since Freddie Mercury died he is the the face of Queen. Rodger Taylor, the drummer is the other. John Deacon I do not believe is a part of them anymore. Paul Rogers, of Bad Company fame, sang lead for the concert tour a while back. But yeah, Brian May is the guy now.

He has been most responible for keeping the band functioning after Freddie passed away, though he is not that great of a vocalist to have filled adequately into the role of lead singer/guitarist.
