Clocks in many ads, especially analogue clocks, say 10:10 because it shows both hands in an 'up' position. Ads are very 'strange' because people see a 'nice picture or film' and may not realize how many 'psychological tricks' are played on them in that ad. A 'clock' that says 10:10 is such a trick ... because the hands are 'up' we are supposed to think 'I can afford that, I need that, I want that' and go out to buy it ... if the hands read 8:20 we would tend to think 'it's too expensive and I don't really need or want it.'
I know this because I had a neighbor once who worked in 'advertising' and he told me many of the 'little tricks' that advertising writers and photographers use to 'fool us' into buying things we don't really need or even want.

Confirmed by Timex, it is that clock and watch hands in
advertisements are typically set at 10:10 so that the company's logo will be well-displayed. In addition, this position of the hands resembles a smile.

They also are set at 8:18.

The purpose is a compromise in design. The face of the clock -- it's design, shading, contrast, etc -- is a key selling point. After all, future owners of the watch will be looking at it frequently. The purpose of the hands being where they are is to allow as full exposure to the design. If the hands were taken off, the viewers eyes would be attracted to the lack of hands -- thereby allowing them to digress from a buying decion process.

cause that's what time it is!!....lol

I actually remember something about this...no wait...that was for picutres in watch ads, they put the hands at either 10:10 or 8:20 to emphasize the name which was often centered just above the 6. Made it symmetrical too.

I sent that question in one time to an author. He said it's so that the brand name of the clock shows.

It is symmetrical, and if you imagine the clock as a "face", then it would look something like a smile, or a happy mustache.
