I think you could pick any of the subjects that authors such as Jacqueline Wilson, Lisi Harrison, Stephanie Meyer or Meg Cabot have tackled and be successful -- peer pressure, friendship, boyfriends, popularity, clothes, gossip or whatever. Here's a secret: you need to have your own unique point of view and writing style. Each of these authors has tackled time-true teen subjects, but each book is written from the individual author's perspective. I suggest reading a few more of these books. Go to a Barnes & Noble and see what's on the shelves. Talk with the people staffing this section to see what sells. A publisher or agent who sees that you have researched your work in addition to writing something compelling is bound to publish your work. I've put a link to "The Making of a Bestseller: Success Stories from Authors and the Editors, Agents, and Booksellers Behind Them" by Brian Hill and Dee Power because it is one of my favores. Good luck.
