Would not hold back & take it, they would get it back at them.

Ignore them, try not to say anything or show that I am angry, because that's probably what they want. Keep my cool, trying not to take it personally, and move on.
I believe just because somebody says something nasty to you doesn't give you the license to say something nasty back. That's how fights start and it is really immature.

You have to be careful because this world is populated by many nutters. I beeped my horn at a guy who cut me up at a junction. He jumped out his car and threatened me. I was terrified and another driver had to come to my rescue and tell this guy, "Get back in you car you cowardly b a s t a r d." It has made me nervous of tackling nasty behaviour. However, I like to think that I am not a push over.

What I'd like to do is, stand there laughing as loudly as possible so everyone around hears and start pointing at them so everyone stares at them, (hmm, maybe pull their pants down as well, hehehe!) That would make an example of them.

What I'd probably do is walk away though, not worth the hassle in reality!

I would probably say something really nasty back...i can be downright evil with my mouth when someone upsets me. I wish however that could just walk away from them.

Most likely I'd give them a filthy look, and if possible leave - however, if it was the wrong time of the month, and depending on who they were, I'd be tempted to have a go back, I'd probably regret that though.

It really depends on exactly what they said. Some things I'd just blow off, give 'em the finger, what ever, others I'd have some choice words for,and last would be knocking them the F-k out. It's totally situational.

I would consider the "source" of the comment and not take it personally. I may ignore them or respond with a logical unoffensive comment.

Sorry to vague on the question... a lot depends on the nasty & the person saying it....So I'll take a shot at it... if it was one of my children I would pop them in their mouth... if it was hubby I would kiss him and urge him on........ LOL ;p

Nothing at the time, but I would make sure that everyone knew about it. Then never speak to them again.
