At the moment I have 74 messages in my Inbox waiting to be sorted out. I have 88 folders in my Inbox containing a total of 1,718 messages. There are a total of 216 messages in 21 folders in my Sent box and 145 messages in my rubbish bin waiting to be deleted. I don't like deleting too many messages, especially emails from friends and relatives; I like to be able to read them time and time again. Also I keep all emailed receipts for on-line purchases. However, having had a quick peep at a few of the folders, I realise that some of the messages are 3-4 years old. Perhaps it's time to have a sort out of the folders and maybe get rid of some of them.
Thanks for asking the question; I would just have kept adding to the existing folders without thinking but now you have spurred me on to have a good old clear out. Have a star!

Definitely. Go through it with a fine tooth comb at least once a week. When you ask questions on Yahoo it can really clog up your inbox. Something quite cathartic about deleting them.

Really? Because Y!A keeps spamming mine with e-mails about meeting singles over 80 in Lithuania. BQ: Usually, other users' e-mails get thrown into my spam folder but I don't generally get actual spam mail.

Sort of... I have some old crap lying around in my email account that I could delete. But mostly it's in my Bulk folder. All new messages that I don't need get deleted.

I do this all the time with my personnel e-mail and my work e-mail as this makes life much easier. I also have a folder to keep e-mails that are important
