Hello,

I have a very interesting question here and was wondering what the public thought about this. OK, If you are married to your SOULMATE, your one and only true love, what happens if they die unexpectingly (at any age). I always felt that I would stay with them in spirit. As if somehow they are still with me and we will meet again. I would consider seeing someone else cheating and not right! I am still in love with my SOULMATE right? Also, what is the definition of a SOULMATE? Think about it. If my wife died, even if I didnt have any kids, I would feel that I would never ever see another woman, but she doesn't agree and this is really tearing me apart! Can someone please help me out here? Your thoughts on the topic and also how do I deal with this knowing that she would maybe. She said it would take a LONG time, but it is still really bothering me. I feel she doesn't love me the same way I do. She is my ONE and ONLY, I could never date or be with anyone else.

Thx!

To some of your responses....thank you for the responses so far, but here's the thing. Do any of of you feel that once you die, you will be reunited with your spouse? I do, and this is why I cannot think about dating someone else in between if she were to die early.

Also... to the people who said "there is no reason you should live alone".... so does that mean when a couple is 77 years old and one dies, the other should go looking again?

I never look ahead and try to guess what I MIGHT do.....or what my mate would do if I passed first. If you love someone you would want the best for them and not want to hold them to a lifetime alone, if they chose to marry or couple again. You don't know HOW you would deal with the situation until it happens and to focus on that now really robs your current relationship/marriage of all the joy you could be having together.

Never say never..........

It wouldn't necessarily be wrong for a widowed person to find a 2d spouse, but it's necessarily right either if done for reasons other than genuine love and respect.

Some people seek 2d spouses more out of loneliness than love. Some do it to provide a parent for the kids. Some do it just for the sexual release. None of these are good reasons.
but still, that's a very personal decision that only the individual person can make...not other people. It really annoys me when I see people pressuring a widowed or divorced person to "get back on the horse" before they are truly ready...but I also hate it when I see people who make a divorced or widowed person feel guilty because they want to date or marry "you're disrespecting the memory of the deceased."

You say you could never date or be with anyone else. I'd say Never say never. Things do happen, and why set yourself up for unnecessary guilt. Here's a thought. How do you know the person you're with is REALLY the soulmate? Maybe it could really could be someone else you hadn't met yet.

I think it's truly great that you love your wife so much. I do believe though, that if she were to die unexpectedly at a young age, that she was taken from this world for a reason, and if you should meet someone else who fulfills everything that you need/want/desire, that it's not wrong to have a second marriage. I've known several people who this has happened to, and while they didn't stop loving their first true love, they were able to live their life with the companionship and love from someone else. I do think that if your spouse died and you were sad about it for the rest of your life, she would be sad to, watching down on you, and if you found someone else who made you happy, that would make her happy too.

Been there...yes time will heal ...... yes you can love again.
Yes ... people here are meant to be with people ......
What comes next ....we all find out one day. But try to be happy and feel like your apart of this world while you have the chance ..... life can be too short.

Good Luck.
