I think both Nicole and Paris, even with their limited mental capacity, are both smart enough to stay out of the dogfighting business. Actually the example is the sentence and the sentencing is done by a judge. The prosecutor is merely the representative of the people in bringing and proving charges. Should either of the two starlets manage to get caught like Micahel Vick did, I would imagine they would be receiving comparable sentencing. By the way, Vick hasn't been sentenced yet and he is apprently getting a pretty good deal, considering he will probably avoid federal racketeering charges.

Terrific question.
The prosecutors were going after Vick because he was a celeb ~ and nailed him to the cross.
Personally, I don't think dog fighting is as horrible as most and acknowledge that it's popular in almost every other country and accepted as such.
Nicole and Paris, rich little white girls who have fathers who donate to the 'policeman's fund' and do all the correct politics.
A color issue? Maybe so.
A political statement? Very much so.
Unfair? Absolutely.
As to dog fighting itself - let's be clear that there is a long history of breeding just for that sort of thing.
We humans have pitted (every pun intended) dogs against dogs, dogs against bulls, there has been cock fighting, bear baiting, mongoose vs cobra and even Christians vs lions ~ all for sport since the dawn of time.
Just look at people getting all preachy and "poor things" about them dogs, I wonder if they eat KFC chicken where those animals live in their own ****. Take them to a slaughterhouse sometime and see if they still want their double cheese burger. I wonder if they enjoy dolphin in their tuna? Righteous people who have zero perspective - they want their dogs to be surrogate children.
I'll agree that it's illegal - but dontcha get all snotty about dog fighting, it's happened for the last seven thousand years. Just because people don't like in now in this generation means that the ethics are all out of wack.

well think about this...they already hav had wat..DUI 50 billion times...i dont really think that Paris would hurt Tinkerbell or whatever the hell that dogs name is. but if Paris or Nicole ever admitted to dog fighting, as Vick did, they wouldnt hav that harsh of a punishment just because the world is too stupid to realize that Nicole, Paris, and Vick all equal the same thing

The prosecutors present the cases and recommend the severity of the sentence. That is their job. The Judge makes the decision for leniency or severity of the sentence. That is his or her job. What does that have to do with "making examples" of anyone?

Of course it is "fair". Some things just resonant with wrongness...breeding animals to fight, forcing them to live lives of pain and violence, then killing them brutally is one of those things. Hideous and inhuman. There is no comparison between that and the stupidity of two ignorant young women . Had either of them caused injury or death while DUI, then their punishment would have been severe. You can not be sentenced according to what might have happened, only according to what actually did happen.

Prosecutors should be making examples? What? You want the lawyers to enforce the laws? The dumb *** shouldn't have been doing what he was doing and he deserves EVERYTHING that he gets. I hope he gets raped in prison. He was an overrated QB anyway.

Even these silly women have hearts! Michael Vick obviously lacks a heart. If you put your ear to his chest, you would hear dead silence.
