I've thought about this a lot over the years. I plan on either keeping my last name or hyphenating it should I ever get married. It's nothing against my future husband or his family, but rather has to do with my own family. For many, many years, I wanted nothing to do with my own family. I refused to answer if someone called my by my last name. I wanted to change my name so I'd no longer be associated with my family. Things have changed so much since then. I'm proud to be part of my family. I love my name. Keeping my own name would be more to show my pride for my family and a demonstration of my love for them.

Yes, I love having my husband's last name, and even though I would take his name no matter what, at least he has a really nice name!

I don't mind either way. My fiance offered to take my name instead. The only thing is I hate my last name, because I hate the people in that family. So many drug addicts, alcoholics, and pedophiles. I cant wait to change my name.

Yes because its a whole lot easier to say then mine was. People don't say "what?" every time I say my last name now.
