Okay, noe that I've got your attention, I've got a question for you. Ladies would you rather go out and work everyday or be a stay at home mom?

We live in times that enable women to combine the two.
If that should be impossible (for whatever reason), I'd go out and work. After all I have the necessary education to get a great job and I want to work.
I had (or better have) a working Mom and I think it was the best she could have done. She is living what she's been preaching to my sister and me: go earn your own money and independence. Make sure you can always rely on your yourself.
That is also what I would want to teach my own daughters.
Plus, if I also work, it is easier to pay for the great education I want my kids to have. Education is the most important part of working live in the industrialized countries of the 21st century.

When my Kids were Small, I prefered to stay at home with them until they started School. When they started School, I worked Part-Time to help with the finances but also have plenty of time to spend with the Kids, and not be so tired. Unfortunately in todays World its not always possible for a Mother to be able to do that. Everything Cost so much and Educating a Child is not cheap. One has to do the best She can do and hope she has a Good Partner to support her...

I have been a stay at home Mom, for the last 49 years of my Life, because I wanted my kids to finish School, and get a Career, but in the meantime, I also finished my College Education, to tell myself I could do it too. After that my Grand kids were Born, I helped all five of my Daughters with them so they could further their education. They all are professionals in their field, of Teaching two of them, the other works for the county, and the remaining ones are Secretaries. Each of them take care of their Families,including Husbands. They cook too.

No, I agree with Masterswot, that women both are able to work everyday and stay home with their kids. If I ever have children, I plan to work only part-time so I can spend more time with my darlings :)

I think that both are very difficult jobs to perform - the difference is that one is a paid position and the other is not. But if I had the luxury of choice, which I don't, I'd rather stay home. Not because it is "easy", but because that would be my personal preference.

I would rather go and work. My mom hammered into my head growing up the importance of being able to support myself and it stuck. I would hope that my daughters do the same. You never know what life is going to throw at you and I would rather them have the skills and experience to support themselves than find themselves in a terrible situation.

I've done both....gone out to work and had the privilege of staying at home with my kids for several years.
I much preferred staying at home with my kids to paying someone else to take care of them.

I wish more women could afford to stay home with their children but unfortunatly folks can't afford for only one parent to work.

Ideally I'd choose both. A couple days at home and a couple at work.
