The 7 best teams in the league are all in the AFC. tell me honestly if any of these 7 teams were in they NFC, would they not be an easy pick for the NFC SuperBowl representative?

Chargers
Steelers
Patriots
Colts
Jaguars
Ravens
Bengals

This obvious by the fact that the third best QB in the AFC (Drew Brees) could take the last place team and take them to the NFC chamionship game all by himself (with a little assistance form a rookie RB)

It's not right that one of those 7 teams will not make the playoffs but that are better then an entire conference!!!!!

Also look at how bad the NFC is...... they had to send Mike Vick to the pro bowl...HAHA what a joke he wouldnt even be a starter on an AFC team!!

Thanks to all of you who pointed out the cycle of how a conference dominates the other and accepted the fact the the AFC is a far superior conference

To all of you idiot that can not see that the AFC is much better: pull your head out of your asshole

I think there are two reasons.

1) There are better coaches in the AFC. I don't believe there is any salary cap or other mechanism to balance coaching salaries like there is for player salaries. If you look down into the coordinator and positional level the differences really jump out at you.

2) Other than the salary cap there is no mechanism to balance free agency like there is for draftees. So a great team like New England can sign quality free agents like Moss and Thomas without having to wait on their falling through to them like they do with draftees.

Both of these factors tend to attract the best coaches and best free agents to the best teams, which currently are in the AFC.

Its a cycle nonetheless. One conference becomes dominant for a period of time, those players and coaches move on, and the other conference reigns supreme. In the 1970's the AFc was most dominant with teams like the Steelers, Dolphins, and Raiders. In the 80's and 90's the NFC was supreme with teams like the 49ers, the Redskins, the Cowboys and Packers. Now in the modern day teams like the Colts, Patriots, Chargers and Ravens have appeared to make the AFC dominant again. After a few years have passed I see the NFC dominating again with teams like Green Bay, Arizona, St. Louis San Francisco and Dallas getting better and duking it out in the near future.

Also i would like to point out Mike Vick wasnt electyed to the Pro Bowl due to lack of talent, it was pure popularity just like Romo was last year. QB's like Marc Bulger, Donovan McNabb and Brett Favre deserved it more than in the years Vick went.

Another side note, Brees didn't take the Saints to the title game by himself. New Orleans had a lot of talent on their team already but didn't have a true QB and was distracted by Hurricane Katrina. Brees is a good QB and showed how much potential that team had and should be a contender again.

Was it ten (?) years ago that the Packers just won the last of 13 straight years of Super Bowl championships for the NFC? And since then only the Buccaneers and Rams have won. I think it's just the way things average out. Same thing happens in other sports (Western Conference in NBA is really strong after the Bulls dominance, AL in MLB is typically stronger than most NL teams now, Western Conference in NHL was a powerhouse and now all the young talent is spilling into the Eastern Conference). Maybe it's all a product of drafts and grooming young talent, and maybe it takes a decade or so for things to switch. Look how long it took Brees to become such a good quarterback. Peyton Manning took awhile to grow into an elite quarterback.
Just what I've noticed, I can't really base this on anything concrete for you.
But I understand your frustration when there are more winning teams in one conference than the other. Remember when St. Louis went to the playoffs a couple years ago with an 8-8 record? I can't remember exactly the team from the AFC(Broncos?) that MISSED the playoffs with a really good record that same year. Especially sucks when the team that misses out is your team and you have to watch that crappy team from the other conference take a spot they don't really deserve.

I am a huge fan of the NFC and I got to admit that the AFC was dominating so what starting at Super Bowl 19 to Super Bowl 31 the NFC won every single Super Bowl

San Francisco 3 times
Chicago Bears 1
New York Giants 2
Washington Redskins 2
Dallas Cowboys 3
and Green Bay 1 time so for 12 years straight the NFC dominated

and for the AFC they are from Super Bowl 32 to 33 and from 35 to 36 and from 38 to 41 they alright but the AFC is not dominating for the pro Bowl the NFC still has won way more games my case is rested

The difference between the NFC and AFC was even greater in the 80s and 90s, only it was the NFC that was dominant. The NFC won 13 straight Superbowls at one point. The NFC east by it self accounted for 7 of them. Give it another 5 years and the NFC will start to even and even pass the AFC. Its a cyclical thing.

AFC West has stable communities like the Broncos and the Chargers. NFC West does not incredibly have constantly stable communities. in line with probability the Seahawks are having an off 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, yet i think of the AFC West is extra suited average.

the nfc doesnt suck that bad. the steelers, bengals, and jaguars arent even that good. mike vick would easily start on an afc team, (brown, bills, etc.). he did break the rushing record for a qb, the afc wouldve sent him too if he was in their conference. dont get all high on the afc just because theyve won the super bowl the past couple of years. drew brees did not single handedly take the saints to the nfc championship game. he had help from reggie bush, marques colston, and others. your just plain ignorant.

It does seem to go in cycles. Do you think Seattle regret moving to the NFC and making the Superbowl? I had them rated as the 6th best team that year. The ownership/management/coaching and scouting of the AFC teams seems to be a lot more stable than the NFC's.

yes this is a joyous time if your a fan of the AFC or any of the teams you listed.
but history shows that one conference will always be stronger than the others
last 10 superbowls: afc 8-2
10 before: 0-10

Bacause back in the 1990's the AFC sucked and the NFC rocked, it's a cycle that will probbably go off and on for a while.
