Apparently he paid for the set up dog fighting on some property he purchased and either gave the orders or actually assisted in killing eight or possibly more dogs.
He is denying he betted in the sport because that could be a permanent disbarment from the NFL.
The judge will make a decision on how much prison time he will serve- maybe he could get the Nicole Ritchie time- then the NFL and the state of Virginia will make their decisions to Vick's monetary status. Before this is all over Vick might have to direct chicken fights for the money.

He's pleaded guilty to starting and funding an interstate gambling ring, based upon illegal dog fighting.
He's not pleaded guilty to, but is alleged to have gambled, and profited from these activities. He was also charged with the brutal deaths of under-performing dogs.
This is all related to the federal investigation. State charges are being compiled.
