The label of the day that the right wing has placed on those who do not walk lock step with the status quo is Liberal. Libs have a love for America, but it's not all about being a warmongering, bloodthirsty, military engine that meets the needs of the Elite. It's about America taking the lead in the world community by example through humanitarian ideals that better all, not just the few.

Back in the late 1700's we were called PATRIOTS.

You don't see the righty's making any relevant arguments against the Patriots of the past--Why Not? Because then they would be easily deemed the actual persons with traitorous thinking.

Because they want to retreat and surrender, and generally despise our Military - even in peace time. They can't see the big picture, only the small corner of it that concerns only their own comfort and life style. They, as a group, portray an attitude of "Blame America first for everything." Patriotism is considered taboo. And they can't understand that there are people in this world that live to kill Americans, as well as other nationalities. While the whole time, our soldiers are sacrificing to defend them from future home attacks. I'm really not trying to be mean or condescending here. I've studied this for several years now. There's a good book available, written by M. Savage, titled, "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder." It's worth reading. Good luck with your quest. Oh, and the lady above me has an excellent point as well.

I am a Liberal and I think this conflict has been botched. But I do not want to see America run away with it's tail between its legs. Our Neo-Con Admin. had better think of plan B pretty soon or it will end in failure...Liberals will send their kids to war because the nation needs it....but the argument is still open to discussion on enlarging the operations....if we all just went along with whatever Bush and Cheney decided, we would be in Iran and Syria as well....Dissent is good

Sorry; no CONCRETE examples to offer, but if you'll allow my opinion it is due to the unwillingness of people to accept the idea that those who think differently could actually be sincere in their beliefs. I think most people who think those who disagree are "evil" have changed one or more of their views on issues over time, and should therefore realize that sincere people can disagree.

I suspect we all know sincere people we love and respect who disagree with us on issues. We should remember that before calling names.

Liberals and conservatives both think their policies would work for the benefit of a greater number of people.

Because Fox News has taken a famous quote of one man The more often you say something the more people will believe it. (Adolf Hitler).

People call liberals traitors because because the Administration and Fox News twists everything that liberals have said to make them look traitorous.

The war in Iraq was viewed as a mistake by an extremely large number of people, and no name, or series of names someone wants to call those who feel that way is going to change that.

This particular battle cry was started by Cheney & the neo-cons over the Iraqi war. If you tell the same lie long enough & loud enough people that are bias or uneducated on the particular subject will have a tendacy to believe it.
