my mom died when I was ten and I had to take over the house chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry).
That makes you grow up real fast.
I than became a wife and mother at 17.
I was matured at a very young age. I'm only 30 and I feel like I'm 55.

I'm trying to take care of my responsibilities. That's one way to become more mature.

Had a daughter who was born with physical and mental disabilities.(She's 4 now and is coming along, but still has to eat via a G-tube and pump, and must wear hearing aids.) About this time last year, we almost lost her due to complications from"routine" surgery. Try living in a children's hospital for a month. It'll rewire anyone's priorities in a hurry.

I finally realized that people are just like me; they have the same insecurites, phobias, & thoughts. So there is nothing to fear of people, no one was judging me except my own biggest critic; me. I feel much more mature & knowledgeable now that I know this. Everything is so much easier in life for me.

When you experience a lot of downfalls and you deal with them. That's how you know that you have matured.

it's not the main reason, but i feel as if i grow up a little more everytime someone i love dies... it's kinda weird, yes, but i've lost many relatives in my few years of living, and it makes me realize that life is far too short to be a selfish hurtful kid like so many today are.
