Desire is never ending. It is a terrible way to live. Always wanting. Never having enough. The mere state of a desire/want is to be dissatisfied with what exists.

The more desires you consider the more dissatisfied you become.

My friend, I have never had a desire to accumulate wealth. Your second question clearly shows you mean wealth as in "money." My life is rich in so many things. I have no "desires." I accomplish things, I contribute with the abilities that I have, I love nature & all living creatures, wealth would serve no purpose for me.
Yet, now & then I think of what I could do if I won the lottery; foundations I could create, help to humane research & organizations. That would be very fulfilling.

Wealth has never been a great concern as I was always more interested in helping others.
My purpose and fulfillment in life comes from being a Christian Preacher and writer.

I find it sad that this world is based on greed. Though, as sad as i am to say this, wealth probably would gratify my will somewhat. I'd probably also want a meaningful relationship.
