I work full time and I also go to school full time at night. I have 2 kids and I was getting support from the father but he lost his job so he stopped paying me and his in California. Im going to school for the sole purpose to better myself and get a better paying job but inbetween all that, money is very hard. I have been looking into finding another job but its very hard cause of the hours I need for school and to balance my 2 kids.I do have a college degree already and I do not need the opinion of someone telling me Im being selfish by not being home with my kids cause basically going to school will benefit them so we can be on our own cause right now Im living with my father and Im doing what I need to do inorder to get things together. I have student loans and finanical aid, school is all paid for, its just I have other bills and with school for my kids coming, its hard affording new stuff for them, any help will be great! I live in New Jersey

Let me just add that I do work full time and go to school full time, i know I already mentioned that. I understand my child's fathers situation but he got himself kicked out the navy, how is that my fault or my kids fault?

Bravo sweetheart! You've got a good head on your shoulders and you seem to really have your priorities straight! My suggestion to you is this (because I too was in a similar situation)...contact your local child support office and let them know about the situation. It's their job to pursue interstate collections. They have the ability to not only garnish the fathers wages (when he finds a job) but also intercept his income tax returns and make him sell any assets he might have in order to pay his arrears. I wish you the best and I wish you lived in Michigan, with a strong work ethic like yours, I'd put you to work in a heart-beat.

First of all don't get a loan. That will just be one more bill you won't be able to pay. See where you can afford to make some cuts in your spending. My first suggestion to people such as yourself with financial trouble is if you have cable cancel it, it's not a life necessity. I know so many people who say "I can't live without cable." Yes you can. It's a luxury. I had to do it for a long time, and I was okay. I survived. Second, is cell phones. If you can't afford to keep it, then don't. You can get cheap home phone service in almost every city in America. Clip coupons, comparison shop for the food and non-food necessities. Word of caution: only clip coupons for products you buy on a regular basis. If you clip all coupons from your local paper, you may be tempted to buy something you wouldn't normally buy just because you have a coupon. I'm not a credit counselor or a financial planner or adviser, but I have had a lot of experience being broke, and having to squeeze pennies to pay bills. I am also a single mom with 2 children so I feel your pain. If you would like some help working on a budget, please feel free to e-mail me. Good luck.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a loan or some financial assistance from the government. Do not fall into those lenders that prey on good people like you. They ask for fees upfront and will scam you out of all your money. You could try prosper.com and see what you could get. You are NOT selfish I know you are doing a wonderful thing by showing your kids that you can make a better future no matter what.
I wish you the very best with your future. Don't give up stay in school !

Hard making it, how about try working full time, going to school and paying child support. It appears that the courts out in California feel it is OK for the guy, so what if he does not eat, have nice things or a place to stay.
All I can suggest is make some changes in your life and cut back on your expenses.

It's not a lot of money or even a real job for that matter... just a way to earn some extra cash in your spare time filling out free surveys online. You only have to be 13 to sign up and it's completely free.
Sign up at http://ipthing.com/db1b7a and get $3 JUST to join. Minimum payout is $15. That means you just have to earn $12 to receive a check and see that it's legit for yourself. I made $500+ last month just doing surveys.
Good luck in your money making quest :)
