Working my way up an ice-chimney at 2am with only a head torch to show the way with a 4km drop beneath me and with only a couple of ice axes, a rope and a few ice screws supporting me.

I once played a joke on one of my mates who is the original practical joker, I put an old key on his key ring the only problem was, I forgot about it, about six months later I remembered and spoke to him about it, 'you bas...d' he said, 'that nearly cost me my marriage', his wife accused him of having another woman, he himself went round nearly every lock in West Yorkshire trying to find a door that it fitted, every thing's okay now though, he made me explain to his wife what I'd done.
