I would never swim in an area where dogs are swimming in the ocean. Once, around 1969, I was at New Smyrna Beach, Florida, swimming as I had since a child and a shark grabbed and ate a big lab. This dog had been swimming for over an hour and it was kind of cute, with the owner throwing a ball and the dog swimming out to get it. Soon the owner hit the ball with a bat, knocking the ball way out. As the dog was swimming towards it, the water erupted with foam & blood. No way will I ever swim near a dog in the ocean.
