No. The answer is no. You must be a bit confused.

When you are accepted, you are welcomed with open arms into the loving arms of family where you happily belong to.

When you are tolerated, you have never been accepted at all, just-- well--- ugh-- tolerated. It is like social pretense. It is not real, it is stilted, it is one of the games that people play.

The mantra should therefore be........"Dont just tolerate me, accept me! "

Acceptance is when you accept a thought, and agree with the thought. Tolerance is when you agree to disagree.

So in essence "Tolerance" would have to come first, in order to agree on any matter.

Edit: I just looked at the other answers. It is interesting how some people took this question personally.

Tolerance has been twisted by the P/C bigot police - see www.tolerance.org./

TOLERANCE is, simply put, A RESPONSE to the action of DISAGREEABLE agents, whether people or poisons. True, some people think the WRONG people are poisons. Yet, for the historical standard, this conflict played out in 1930's Germany because endurance, fortitude, and stamina were in short supply after economic hardship of the '20's. Toleration allowed evil to continue unchecked with WRONG standards of acceptance.

We can tolerate alcoholism, marijuana use, even other drugs. Yet when those impaired by drugs cause traffic accidents, and users cause mayhem with guns and violence, acceptance is thrown out the window. No one accepts a drunk driver or a drunk friend belligerant towards our property.

Your neighbors have a big family reunion, on their 2 acres of property. You will not accept the loud music if you need to sleep after 9pm for most jobs. Even 2 acres is not big enough, with a big bass rumbling through your walls and windows. You might get agitated when they have a party every evening.

Tolerance is living in college dorms at party schools. They endure the good with the bad. Acceptance is for fraternity and sorority parties.

Working your way up the career ladder is tolerance for living in substandard conditions when you have dug yourself a hole and need a lift to get out. Acceptance is the satisfaction you are not going get a better life, or getting drunk and living below the standards set for your dreams.

Merriam- Webster dictionary has TOLERANCE as :
1 : capacity to endure pain or hardship : ENDURANCE, FORTITUDE, STAMINA

2 a : sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one's own b : the act of allowing something : TOLERATION

3 : the allowable deviation from a standard; especially : the range of variation permitted in maintaining a specified dimension in machining a piece

4 a (1) : the capacity of the body to endure or become less responsive to a substance (as a drug) or a physiological insult especially with repeated use or exposure ; also : the immunological state marked by unresponsiveness to a specific antigen (2) : relative capacity of an organism to grow or thrive when subjected to an unfavorable environmental factor b : the maximum amount of a pesticide residue that may lawfully remain on or in food

I reserve the right to return and correct these examples, and maybe add or clarify the ideas. I may not accept my ideas in another sentence.

There is acceptance. The reason there is tolerance is because not everyone sees eye to eye, the just learn to live with it i.e. tolerance.

not, if there was acceptance tolerance wouldn't be needed anymore, but it cannot be total acceptance because you cannot accept everything if you don't agree with it, but you can tolerate most things you can't agree with because you realize that other people may not agree with you and still tolerates you.
