I recorded some lightening storms on my digital camera yesterday and uploaded it to my computer. Is there anyway that you can crop out certain parts of the video to get a picture out of it?

If you only need to capture some pictures, Cyberlink PowerDVD will do this for you easily. If you need a better video editor, like cutting scenes, adding sound effects etc, I suggest the programme VirtualDub (you can look it up in www.download.com)

Absolutly but you need Photo Editing Software like Adobe's Products.
Photoshop any version will work as well as Illustrator, In Design just about any product they have will allow you to do this.
You will have to freeze frame and save it to get what you are after.
There should be an option on the camera, or on the software that will allow you to extract just a frame for a picture.

You could go to that part of the video and do a screenshot and than paste it into paint and crop it.
