- 2 rooms apartment: R$ 800 (per month)
- monthly bus ticket: R$ 80
- 1 can of beer: R$ 1.20 (in a grocery store); R$ 3.00 (in a restaurant). But that's for local beers only. You will spend more than R$ 12.00 for a pint of Guinness.
- pasta meal: R$ 10.00 (in a regular restaurant); R$ 60.00 (in a fine one).
Official minimum wage in Brazil is quite regrettable. In Curitiba it's about R$ 380 a month. But you will do well only when making more than R$ 2000 a month.

Prices vary, so perhaps someone currently living there could better answer the question.
But I have not heard a bad word about Curitiba - a couple of friends I worked with in Sao Paulo were from Curitiba (and have since returned) have nothing but good to say about the city. I should like to visit there someday (soon).
