There are some herbs and things like that over the counter that help with anxiety or depression such as St. John's Wort, Kava Kava, 5-HTP, and SAM-E. Also Vitamin B can help with such things. If you were to see a Dr I would think at your age they would want to discuss this with your parents. Why is it you don't want your parents to know? Be careful with over the counter things because sometimes, they, can even be dangerous.

Yeah, it's called vodka (just kidding). I wouldn't recommend Benadryl; it makes some people flip out instead of calming down. I'm not aware of any effective anti-anxiety pills available OTC. I'd get a prescription for an "as needed" anxiolytic like xanax or ativan (some people won't write it though, because so many people are "drug seekers" and just want these for fun), or a mild anti-depressant to take every day. The anti-depressant is especially effective if you have anxiety frequently, and there are some cheap prescription options.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life
