When I called the police to my home when I was undergoing domestic violence?

The two male officers that came to my home, said to me their are only two kinds of men bad ones and evil ones. If the police think this, no wonder so many women and children are being murdered in Britain and why so many children are becoming like their fathers. Then lets not forget that 98% of all peadfiles are men. I also read a report recently that said 85% of scottish men admitted to using prostitutes regularly, of these 65% were married. I know I wont be going near any Scottish men.All these thugs, and men who hit little old ladies, I read about one little old Lady who was mugged and raped she was 89 years old. Then people say to me you don't like men much,no I don't not these kinds,why should society ever accept these criminals back into society or into their homes?

there are good and bad men as there are women , we should take a look at society and try to understand what is happeneing to men ,
i have two sons that are nothing like their dad they are both kind caring boys who are not mean to women

There are three types of lies

Statistics.

If there are 10 million Scottish men and only 100 men are interviewed and 85% of these admit to having visited a prostitute, it means that just 85 men have admitted being with a prostitute. It does not mean that 8.5 million Scottish men have been with a prostitute.

Also, where was this survey carried out?

Was it is a city centre, during the daylight hours with families and wives in tow?

Or was it conducted in the back streets in red-light districts?

As for paedophiles, 98% of all paedophiles are men.

Again, if there are 10,000 paedophiles, 9,800 are men. Then 200 are women. However, that's not representative of a population of 60 million people...

I appreciate that you have seen a very ugly side of the male character. I also am aware that a great deal of the people the police encounter are enough to make a saint cynical.
I can't comment on your statistics, because you give no source for them. I can assure you that despite your unfortunate experience, their are men who do not fit into the picture of any of the above.
I do know what it's like to suffer physical abuse and how it can colour your vision. Fortunately we are not all the same and it would be very sad if you tar the whole male sex with the same brush, there are some decent ones out there. Hugs

Erm, where the **** did you get those statistics.

85% of scottish men admit to using prostitutes ? Are you kidding me ? WHERE was this survey done? Leith Walk in Edinburgh, asking ONLY people seen approaching half dressed ladies in the middle of the night. MOSTY of the Scottish men are NOT like this, I should know, being one.

There will ALWAYS be thugs in any culture, and abuse, but to simple quote random numbers and claim them as statistics without backing them up is no better. Sure there are some sickos out there, some CAN he belped and should be, some have no wish to be helped and should be secured out of the publics way. Simply locking up ALL criminals does not help, as you end up with overcrowded jails, and lots of people that COULD change do not get the chance to prove they can.

Toby: I appreciate it must be nasty to see people make such comments, but look at the bigger pricture - fiona has a skewed view of men after what she has been through. Her stats are totally wrong though.

Fiona, I understand. To cut a long story short, my dad abused me as a kid and it distorted my view of men badly. However there are plenty of good ones out there. You need to deal with your past problems asd they are clouding your perspective. All you are seeing is the bad. Yes, I know those things you were talking about are hideous, and there is far too much of it all over the world, but you are seeing it absolutely everywhere and it is going to seriously damage you if you don't seek a way forward.

The men who do those things disgust me. However the vast majority don't... and I say that coming from the same place as you are.

I am not sure whether you are in OHIO or Georgia so I will provide info for you to check out in both states. If you are under age the laws are generally stricter than if you are an adult. Basically he could be facing Child Abuse as well as D.V. Counseling may also be requested for him, you and as a family. Since he is on probation they usually will require anger management classes and community service hours. Check through the web sites I have listed and do not be afraid to call and ask questions.

I don't know where you got all your facts from, but really find it difficult with the high
percentages,you give.
That means there are only 2% of men that are not child molesters. Only 15% of Scottish men are faithful. Can you give us your source,the

excuse me fiona but as a scot with scottish parents & grandparents all of whom have sadly passed away, I find your remark about scottish men a little bit offensive. whats the matter were you given the brush off by a scot & now your branding then as unsavoury , what about the english, irish & welsh who use prostitutes where do they fit in in your stastisticsyou have only mentioned scots in this so are you suggesting that all scots are thugs, & the men hit old ladies & 98% of them are paedophiles. I think perhaps the coppers view was a little distorted

So...these two male cops were presumably--bad ones then?--i don't think they hire 'evil ones' for the police force, so can only presume they were 'bad ones', because they plainly said to you that there were two types of men--and surely...THEY must be right. Just curious thats all.
