Promises are somewhat momentary and full of expectations / assumptions about natural flow of surroundings. Often it happens that the surroundings as assumed did not happen satisfactorily, and we blame a promise not kept. Even if we promise to ourselves for something assuming some naturally happening factors, may go wrong in time. To promise therefore is not an easy thing.it is actually a very tough decision depending on various factors to be fulfilled. It may be said that only brave people can promise truly Keeping up to one's commitment is a very astonishing deed as factors often are not favorable. A promiser mostly are defied by factors naturally happened till date, but done away with by some reasons out of control of the promiser. .

At the time I make a promise to some one I mean what I say and I usually keep it, however circumstances change and I'm not always able to do it so I make up for it some how ...I don't like to let people down ....

What kind of promise are you talking about?
I can't even remember the last time I promised anything to anyone...
I am familiar with the concept of making a vow though. As an Evangelical Christian, making vows is part of my daily faith ritual. Of course I make my vows to the Lord, not to just anybody.

As a matter of fact, I do--which is what makes me so dangerous; however, if there's an OVERRIDING, logical reason for not keeping my word (SO THAT HUMANITY WOULD BENEFIT), I WOULD THEN INTENTIONALLY NOT KEEP IT...not keeping my word would have to be by volition!
