New Labour do not know the meaning of democracy. Brown was as much an architect of new labour as that loathsome self worshipping creature Blair. For him to be ahead in the polls fills me with despair at the stupidity and shortsightedness of voters in this country.

With Mordent on this one. At general elections you vote for your local MP of the party you wish to be in power. The party with the most MPs selects its leader and they become Prime Minister.

And what is it with all this Scottish bashing, we live in the UK and have a UK parliament; would you be jumping up and down if Michael Howard had been PM, he's welsh; and Tony Blair, for goodness sake, was Scottish too.

He's on his way out, the opinion polls are manipulated by the Labour friendly media, let the people decide and Labour will be in for a shock. The economy is showing early signs of meltdown.

No. He is perfectly democratically elected. LABOUR were elected, not Blair. You didn't see "Ian Duncan Smith, Charles Kennedy or Tony Blair" on your ballot paper did you? You saw Conservative, Lib Dem or Labour. Who the labour party chooses for it's leader is completely out of the realm of the British voter. You elect people to REPRESENT you - you don't tell them what to do directly (otherwise we'd have a say on every law - something we SHOULD have, but don't), they do what they think is best for their voters, including selecting their leader.

Chances are we'll have an early general election anyway, and Brown will almost certainly have his mandate - given the pathetic excuses for other parties we have.

I fully agree, I cant see them (Labour) winning another election now that he's at the helm. He looks shifty too.
