Yes, Mr Never Never just spent $84 Million of the Australian taxpayers money on a porn filter which a 16 yo boy cracked in 30 minutes.

Lol. I read that story in the paper yesterday.
I'm surprised that the boy wasn't embarrassed to pose for the photo in front of all those pictures of porn! Haha.

To answer your question ... I'm not sure if it was a waste of money. Of course it could be spent on better things, yet I don't think the filter is really aimed at stopping 16 year old boys from accessing porn. I think that it's aimed at protecting young children from coming across it when they are surfing the internet without a parent in the room.

It does seem like a lot of money though!

By the way I am by no means a supporter of John Howard. Once I'm old enough to vote (just a few months now!) I definately won't be voting Liberal. ;-)

I guess I am somewhat relieved to hear that it is not only the U.S. leaders who can waste money so well.

i say no at least his government is trying to prevent porn rather than support it eg Mr Rudd's dirty night out great set of morals he has! and at least his government has the 84 million to spend rather than being in debt
