I'm not a tech-y person.

I have a new ASUS laptop. Do i need to accept the ASUS LIVE UPDATES that would allow me to update my BIOS?
and if i updated it, what's going to happen and how to proceed from there?

Thanks a lot.

1. The BIOS update is just that. It updates the BIOS to fix any flaws and may even add new features (though unlikely).

2. Yes, you should enable it. You will probably only get a couple BIOS updates, anyway.

3. Generally, a special program will run that will "flash" your BIOS and update it. Then your computer will shut down and restart. It's pretty painless. You might not even notice a difference.

Sure, if you need a new paperweight.
