my girlfriend just had a worrying experience. she got out of bed this morning and sat down. her belly began to hurt and she began to breathe hard and feel very weak. She was covered in sweat and suddenly lost her vision. She felt like she was about to faint and like she couldn't move. We think she was in this state for around 10 minutes until she could again move.

We are quite worried that this might be indicating inminent and serious health issues. Anyone know what these symptons are???

It sounds like it may be her appendix. I've had this happen to me many years ago and my mother rushed me to the hospital. I had to go into emergency surgery to have my appendix removed before it burst. If it is not taken care of in a timely manner and the appendix does burst, it could poison and kill her. Even if not the appendix, it does sound serious and you should take her into the hospital immediately.

No but i suggest a doctors visit is in order, particularly anyone losing vision needs to be checked over now.

Scary, but it could be a number of things. Whatever you do don't try to self-diagnose, just get to the docs and take the neccessary tests.

Can't give any advice but hope you managed to get her to A and E. Don't forget to come back on and let us know what the problem was.

That she lost vision is very serious, you need to take her to an emergency room immediatley.

no, but you can call a doctor to come and see her, or you can get her to the hospital as quickly as you can. They will tell you if what problem she has and can recommend her a treatment.

Do you not think you'd be better phoning the doctor, or even NHS 24?

Hope everything's okay.
