cubed root of (x-2)= (x-2) to the power 1 third therefore when saying cubed root of (x-2) to the power 9 we mean that (x-2) to the power 1 third was multiplied 9 times. and when multiplying variebles or numbers of the same base we add powers.
=[(x-2)^1/3]^9 so we add 1/3 9 times and obtain 3

hence cubed root of (x-2) to the power 9=(x-2) to the power 3
which x^3-6x^2+12x+4(read as x to the power 3 minus 6x squared plus 12x plus 4) when expanded.
