I have a few sugarsnap pea vines growing at the moment. I was just wondering if there is some way to get them to be a bit bushier? They seem to just make a beeline from the sky, but pinching the tip off doesnt seem to help them grow more below.
Or should I just resign myself from each vine just growing a couple meters in the air?

In my experience sugarsnaps tend to grow straight up very quickly. When they reach the top of the trellis they will fill out a bit. You need to plant them fairly close together to get a dense crop. You might want to put some seeds between the plants you already have. If the growing season allows this will give you peas over a longer period.

Maybe pinch them down a little lower? I wouldn't let them get over five feet high (I'm five-two) because they'd be hard to pick. Are they growing up something? If they are, they should be fine. Enjoy the peas!

sugar snaps dont get very tall and remember it is a vine and not a bush it will tend to grow straight up to increase production on peas you have to pick tem almost daily or they will stop producing good luck from TEXAS
