But normal hours are 8 - about 4.30 weekedays and 8 - 12.30 Saturday.

excellent question. I know several years ago many used to be open 24/7 for anyone to go there and pray; and some still may be, but because of much of vandalism in many neighborhoods, alot cannot do so anymore. what is more interesting is try calling a church, get a random number of them out of the phone book, guarantee you, almost always you can never reach and talk to a pastor on the first call attempt, even though they don't work, imagine if someone were suicidal or something? whew. Most churches are just another business, not much different than the local florist, beauty shop or pizzaria, at least they answer the phone and can give you information.
