AND FAST.. Im going into H.S nxt year and I dont think the most attractive thing is a girl that stutters.

P.S: My mom wont pay for lessons bc she doesnt think its that important.

If you can't go to a speech therapist who specializes in stuttering, you can do self-therapy. Get the book "Self-Therapy for the Stutterer" and work through it step by step. It is published by The Stuttering Foundation and is available in their estore. Watch some specialists in stuttering in the video for teens which is on the same web site or you can Google videos for "stuttering" and look for "Stuttering: Straight Talk for Teens" to see some therapists at work.

Your mom may play down your stutter because she doesn't want you to be embarrassed or ashamed she loves you and has been able to communicate with you since you were a baby. You should tell her how hard it is to communicate with other people and that the ability to communicate is extremely important to future.

yu do need help but you can do it by slowing down i had son who started doing this and each time i would tell him to slow down and take his time and he is now 36 and doen'st stutter. so you can do the same on your own. they make you nervous and that si why slow down adn remember.

What I do is slow down and think of what I want to say before I speak. It tends to work for me.

Good luck
