Situation: I participated in a competetition which encourages students to invent useful items and supposedly "won" it. FYI: It is a metal, retractable pole that can be used for various purposes a bamboo pole serves. Now, i have to find SOMEONE who can make a prototype of it. Problem is this invention does not exist in the world(yet), so who do i find to help me manufacture it?

A manufacturer who deals in the material you use (steel or whatever) should be able to manufacture a prototype, but it will cost you. You can also go to venture capitalists to get underwriting, and you can go to a patent attorney to learn to patent it. Try asking your local chamber of commerce if they have some small-business coaches who can help you.

You need to do at least a provisional patent first, or your idea may well be ripped off. Patent attorney deal with that.
