Is that the whole story, Crystal?

Is he managing the finances? Does he balance the checkbook?

Is he handing you some money every paycheck? Are the bills paid? Does he remember to allot grocery and gas money?

If this is the situation, dear, then of course you hand him your paycheck. If you'd like more money when you get paid, ask. Find out what your total discretionary funds are each payday. Ask for half.

If .....He's coming to you for more money between checks, and the rent isn't paid, and you're sweating gas money for the rest of the work week, then you have a problem.

Just open up an account in your name. Take your name off all joint accounts. Figure your budget based on Your financial responsibilites, and hand him that amount each month.

Wow my wife takes my check but that's because if I have it bad things happen, like we end up with things that I think are really cool and fun but important bills don't get paid. Allot of guys have this weird delusion that they have to take care of their "woman", what they don't understand is that marriage is 50/50 on all levels. What you both should do is sit down and set a budget, in the budget take both incomes and combine them and after all responsibilities are covered allow each other a personal allotment that is equal. If he doesn't go for this set up an account with only your name on it and get direct deposit...wonderful world of computers, gotta love it! Good luck!

He is not entitled to take that check unless you give the all clear of him having it. Does he work too?, if yes then you should give him half of it to put towards bills ect, or if you made an agreement back in the beginning of the relationship to both of you putting your monies into the one account, then he should have all the check. If I was you, I would be keeping some for myself and banking it in my account for a rainy day.

U need to be in control of your own finances. Your hubby cant take what u have as well as u cant take what he has. sit down with mr controlling and tell him that u wont give him your paycheck unless he can prove that he is paying bills with it. a marriage should be 50/50 and taking all your money so u have known isnt that.

Open a bank account in your own name, that only you have access to, and start depositing your paychecks into that account every time you get paid, before you even go home. Then see how much longer your husband stays around.

Is he good with saving money? If you can do a better job, let him know. Money, even if only one person earns it belongs to both people in marriage. I usually end up controlling the money after the secret credit card bill shows up that she kept around.

Talk to him and explain how you feel.

The money should be for the family, but he has no right to take the check. Have you tried direct deposit?

He does sound like a control freak to me.

Does he handle the bills? If so he would need something from you to help that. Suggest splitting responsibility for the bills and keep your check or have him give you some of it back for you. My wife has hers automatically deposited in her account, transfers some to my account, keeps some for her.

Have your check automatically deposited in to a new individual checking account - - or deposit it on your way home - if he flips out and hits the roof, you need to ask him just what he is thinking and tell him it is not OK anymore.

Does your husband work? If not, and you make more than him. He probably is with you for the money. The way I see it that's your pay check not his.
