Not much, depending on how the auto is driven, you can often out perform the stick, but the times on them are pretty close.

The Auto is quite a bit slower. Think of it this way, the manual has six gears, and the auto has four. The manual has closer gear spacing so when you are trying to accelerate, you can keep the engine in the max hp range, where as when the auto shifts, the rpms drop down considerably. Also, automatic transmissions are huge power robbers. They are basically a big fluid pump. I would be willing to bet that a skilled driver will be 2/10 to 3/10 of a second faster through the 1/4 mile with a stick than an auto, which is about 5 car lengths or so.

MY 2006 GTO 6 speed manual is almost one second faster in thee 1/4 mile and gets 25 miles a gallon at 65 miles an hour in 6th. the Automatic gets about 19 to 20 mpg. Gas Guzzler Tax $1,100 the $600 optional Manual trans was a wash. Some times caught in traffic I would like an automatic. But when I down shift into second at 70 miles an hour to set the chassis for the next Turn I remember just why I prefer to shift for my self. Get a GMM ripshift gear shifter and you will really like the Tremec transmission.

The stick has wheel hop issues. So the auto tends to be faster. It all depends on the driver.
