lol sheru_715, Im sorry but it wasn't Einstein that said that, it was Edison. Einstein said "Imagination is more important than knowledge". I think that's what you were thinking.

A good general knowledge suggests both a good memory and the willingness to use your mind to learn. Memory is a significant factor in intelligence, and memory testing is a significant part of IQ testing. Another part is thinking about what you read and see, and understanding it, and exercising curiosity. While IQ is generally considered to be unchanged as we age, I believe how much we use our intelligence affects how well we are able to use it. "Use it or lose it." The good general knowledge is a clue that the person is choosing to use it. It would also help them be a good contestant on the Jeopardy TV show.

To a certain extent, yes. people remember things becaue they are outstanding, and how outstanding something is, depends on our perspective. for example, before you bought a red car, you never seem to realise that the roads are full of them, but after you buy the red car, you realise that the roads are really full of them. this happens because our minds are constantly deleting, destorting information that our senses pick up, leaving only details that are OUTSTANDING. thus, general knowledge that seem outstanding to you, can be easily recalled but not others. some people have super memories because they MAKE things outstanding, n thus allowing them to easily remember.

general knowledge may be simpe interseting and outstanding in ertain ways to certain people, so they have a good memory on such events or details. Similarly, others who do not relate to general knowledge as well, might not be able to remember them.

However, general nowledge is part of our life. remembering it proves certain amt of good memory and observance.

General knowledge is a result of general interest. I remember all kinds of trivial things that interest me but I can't remember important things, things that don't interest me. When I tell people about something from history or something, they'll say 'Oh, you have such a good memory!' but I think it's just because I cared enough to read about it, and it was interesting enough to me that I remembered it.

Yes it does. But basically you will always memorize things that you think are interesting or worthwhile.
