Sitting out on the front porch in the summer, school friends coming by adding to the conversations and jokes. Watching the people walk by glancing at us laughing and having fun.
Probably wishing they could join us.
The ice cream truck would come by, we'd all get an ice cream bar and just kid around until it was time for some of the friends to leave, that didn't live in the same building as my sister and I. We'd talk about boyfriends and school and teachers we liked and didn't like, and how the day was. That was the good times.

I miss my original hometown, Covington,VA.
I miss my grandparents(my father's parents, deceased, who treated me like I was gold), my best friend who died when I was 15, my cousins that I never kept in touch w/ like we all promised we would.
I miss Saturday mornings @ the crack of dawn, sneaking downstairs to start the early morning line up of great cartoons, My Little Ponies, the way the school cafeteria smelled, Pepsi in the refundable glass bottles, old school arcades, the sound an 8-track player makes when it goes to the next set, rides to the mall thinking how rad I looked in my new acid-washed trench coat, the smell of Rave hairspray, handmade notebook paper fortune tellers, that feeling you get around Christmas when your family feels closer, sleepovers & the ridiculous amount of giggling involved in one, the feeling of love for the very first time...
I could go on & on...& yeah, it's about being a kid & all that.W/out those memories, I don't know where, who, or what I would be...

I miss certain people and the creativity.
I enjoyed the early 1980's so much that I'd like to revisit. Many of the songs are still played here on the radio so the memories are kept alive.

Back in the 60's in Fillmore Utah by the old school house their where 2 old metal pipe slides. They wore I think 10 ft high and hot in the summer but fun to slide down. They made your tummy tingle. In Salt Lake City Utah at Roosevelt Elementary the tall metal pipe swing set.You could swing so high the chain would go slack and give you a falling feeling with a guilt. The Monkey bars, and the merry go round.Lots of fun then, Dangerous now.Now all that stuff is gone.I wish I could go back their now.Meany of the books I still have.Too Manny pictures to list.My first true girl friend. We weir 7, She had red heir and glasses. Her first name was Margret.I would go over to her house to play with her Dall's,and Dall house, and sketch a picture set.My old friend Kenny, and is dog Lassie.Marget moved a way and Kenny! well hes dead now.At age 15 he died in a house fire,as his parents weir past out on the couch at the time.(They killed Kenny, those Bastards.)

I miss sitting in the porch swing with my grandpa when I was a little girl. He taught me all kinds of poems, read to me and told me that the bright pink clouds you see at sunset were strawberry ice-cream. He passed away when I was 17 and I still miss him. I'm 60.

I miss my youth, but I enjoy my maturity. Most of all, I miss my loved ones. This would be a most valuable thing for me to possess, just seeing them and having them around me. The idea that my loved ones would be spiritually well. That they would be God-fearing, God-loving, healthy, both mentally and physically, and be content with their lives. This would be my requirement for happiness in this life. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless
