GMail generates ads by looking at your e-mail, which is probably why you don't like it. I don't think Yahoo reads your mail, but they stick stupid ads in it. The only accounts I've ever had were with Yahoo or GMail, so I can't tell you how anyone else is. I can list some other common providers, though, and you could try them out:

Lycos
Hotmail
Mail.com
