I think it has to do with the fact that Triple H is vince's son-in law.

because rey mysterio is a worthless over glorified cruiser weight. He should team with Hornswoggle instead of the anouncer saying weighing in at 220 pounds the anouncer can say at a combined height of 4ft 11 inches team Short Load Too much hype on the Golden Son in Law he should stay behind the titantron and keep the Has Been Kid with him back there

The reason is simple, HHH is the King of Kings. HHH is the Game. HHH is one of the greatest of all time. While Rey is just nothing of importance. I really enjoyed this past year, and the reason is becuase I did not have to hear that crapy 619 song. HHH is the reason that most people are buying SummerSlam on pay-per-view.

I havent watched wrestling in a long time now at least a 2 years but before I stopped watching wrestling Triple H was da hype. Hell, he puts da "H" in HYPE!!!
I dont mean to take from Rey cause he is a good athlete but I like da game more. I like Rey and have ever since being in WCW but I like da game more. Triple H was my favorite wrestler back when he was just lil oh Hunter Hurst Hemsley.

It is kind of difficult to say, so this is just a guess. Perhaps it is because HHH is a 10 time WHC, or maybe even because he is McManiacs son in law. I really don't know the real reason sorry. Oh and I will never give a sarcastic answer to a good question only to troll questions.

Triple H is more popular than Mysterio AND Triple H can do whatever he wants in WWE, and he's hyping up his return.

It's because hhh is so bigger and badder than rey and did you even think that dx would be so lame if hhh was not in it? and rey is good but not as good as the king of kings triple h!

Triple H is a bit of a bigger star than Mysterio which makes Triple H better marketable and a bigger draw

I think its about the way they left the wwe. Rey left after he lost the belt and after he lost to Chavo w/c means his popularity isn't as big while HHH left when he was at his prime and while the fans loved him. think about who the fans miss most.

I think it's because RAW is way more popular than Smackdown. And, HHH has been in the business longer than Rey Mysterio.
