..If you mean that saying no to people trying to take advantage of yr good nature, then yes...if it means being good to yrself then yes... you have to look after yourself first... before you can relate wholely to anyone or anything.
So being selfish in some instances will benifit you.

Being selfish IS a great way to survive. But in order to succeed and reach all of your goals, you're gonna' have to give a little and trust some ppl.

It's hard to have a good life on your own, but in the end, most ppl just suck and you gotta' look out for #1.

One must be a little bit selfish, in order to obtain the necessities for life. However, total selfishness and self absorption only get you so far.

I guess it depends on what type of lifestyle you want. If you don't mind being lonely, then sure. But if you ever want to get married and have kids, be close to your friends and family, or get ahead at your job, then no. Every relationship is give and take. If all your doing is taking, then you'll find yourself quickly alienated.

selfishness is ego oriented but some selfishness is necessery for our basic survival but too much of it helps our ego to grow.

Sure. It works. I still wouldn't advocate its exclusive practice though. I think there are more adaptive and fulfilling ways to survive.

yes and no.....you gotta look out for yourself, but u also gotta help take care of others...you cant ALWAYS come first...it has to be an equal balance for it to be fair for survival

So far being selfless hasnt worked for me so i'm going to try being selfish and see where it gets me....
