Can it be that NASA and the Government won't tell us that there are structures on Mars?

There are so many what ifs and so many insecure people (in their belief systems). I am tired of the old dogmas and believe many humans will fall behind those that are maturing into the future......but i am afraid that i am obsolete! what if other people are holding onto great truths and the rest of us who don't have access to the info are in the dark. i find i have to act as if (IT) were true. AND then i feel the smallness of the individual self(especially after downloading google sky) and i
both want more in this life and desire the attainment of the universal. i am not confused, i am angry that i have limitations and seethe when my antenae pick up info which might indicate some group of people are hoarding truths about space the way MASONS and others used to hoard truths about the bible and other spiritual info(FOR THEIR BENEFIT!!)

The problem with your theory is that your conspiracy would have to be too large to work.

The planet Mars has been observed ever since the telescope has been invented and the first signs of "life" were a mistake made by the poor instruments. If you study a modern telescopic image of Mars you don't see the canals, the lens we use now days are better than those used by Percival Lowell.

So the first theory that life existed on Mars was all in the imagination of Percival Lowell.

The so called “Face on Mars” was an object pointed out by a NASA astronomer. He was trying to get people interested in the images of Mars so he said; Hey, look at this rock formation doesn’t it look like a face?” Suddenly, NASA was hiding signs of life on Mars and even a movie was made that used the face on Mars. The problem is that there wasn’t a face, there never was. The NASA astronomer tired to explain that it was only a chance formation of and lighting. Sure enough when a probe with better resolution scanned the same spot we only found a field of rocks.

The fiction of H. G. Wells created War of the Worlds. It was taken and made into a radio play by Orson Wells (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orsen_wells) creating a huge panic. If you had listened to the radio for more than 5 minutes then you would have heard the disclaimer that this was a Halloween prank, I have heard a recording of the original broadcast. Yet all this has only fueled the idea that there is life on Mars.

Frankly, Mars may have had life once upon a time, before the T-Rex wandered the earth. The life, if any died out long ago or hid under ground. The problem is the lack of water, without water life, as we know it is impossible. All carbon based creatures need water. Mars has no free water; almost all of it is locked up in the Northern Ice Cap or deep underground. Without that water then Mars is just dirt and dust. The lack of a strong magnetic field may also have hurt Mars; the solar wind could have stripped off most of the atmosphere and water a long time ago. Then the constant hail of asteroids on the planet would make sure that any living thing would have a hard time.

According to the History Channel a football or less sized asteroid hits the earth once every 4 hours. If that many asteroids can make it through our thick atmosphere to actually strike the ground then imagine how many impacts Mars has had. The earth has an atmospheric pressure of about 1.0332 kPa at the surface; Mars only has an air pressure of 0.7–0.9 kPa at its surface. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars). That is a major air pressure difference, which makes dust storms on Mars throw up a lot of dust but with the impact of a feather. The Martian atmosphere offers no protection for life, it could have been a lot denser, a lot wetter and a lot more survivable, but that was long ago.

Currently, NASA’s search for life is at the microbe stage, we haven’t found any since the Viking Lander so we are looking for water or maybe even fossils of microbes. Mars probably once had running water, and life is very tenacious, given half a chance it will grow. We have found life in the hot sulfur springs at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, in hot springs at Yellowstone, in caves of sulfuric acid, and even in tainted run off waste of a copper mine, there are even microbes that live just under the Antarctic ice, but all of these situations have water, and Mars doesn’t.

Probably, life once had life on it, one theory for the evolution of life says that the earth may have been seeded by comets, and that the extreme violence of comet collisions doesn’t destroy life, but actually create new amino acids and peptides. However, the chances of this happening or continuing to happen without water are pretty slim. That’s why the search for life has moved from Mars to Jupiter’s ice moon Europa. If there is a underwater sea then there could be life on the moon.

It took a long time for intelligence to develop on the Earth, the chances of it developing on Mars before it developed on Earth is small, and the chances of it surviving after the loss of water and most of the Martian atmosphere is even smaller. Mars was probably a dead world long before proto-apes walked on earth.

The chances of NASA hiding signs of intelligent life on modern Mars are about zero. Remember that Russia has been there, anyone can study Mars and get good images and those images we see of Mars are not just beamed in a tight beam to NASA. They require a world wide network of receivers to catch the signal, because the earth rotates; those signals can be received almost anywhere on the planet. So if NASA was trying to hide signs of life then it wouldn’t take much work for another government to prove it.

As for your conspiracies; oh boy, I don’t want to go there. It is just like the Myth that the US never went to the Moon, there are too many ways to prove it wrong. First conspiracies on a huge scale are almost impossible. If aliens visited Roswell and we still had their wreckage then every single guard would have to be in that conspiracy, the people who found it and all the people who researched it would also have to be involved; and all those people would have to have resisted the millions of dollars that would be offered for proof of a conspiracy. Human nature is against secrets; there is an old saying “Two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead.” Look at the biggest secret of Watergate, known by only three people on the entire planet and the two reporters said they would keep the name secret until after the death of Deep Throat. However, Deep Throat himself came forward because he needed the money for medical bills. The lure of easy money is too easy to destroy any of those huge conspiracies. Throw in the instinct to gossip and how hard it is for people to keep a secret and those big conspiracies fall apart because they are too huge to be possible.

I seriously doubt anyone is hiding any secrets about Mars from you. In fact NASA is doing its best to shout them out so they can keep interest in the space program up.

Conspiracies do exist, if one or two people were in the J. F. K. Assassination then that conspiracy could be possible, but not huge ones like the moon program, life on Mars or others.

As for the Free Masons, they were the first Union; created so that the skill of Stone Masons wouldn’t be abused by the Church. Since the Stone Masons had a rare skill they could charge more for their work, this lead to the establishment of the middle class in Europe. I don’t know what the Masons are doing now, but I seriously doubt they control the government, again the size of the conspiracy is just too great. Did the Masons influence the US government; there is no doubt about that, but how strong that influence is can be questioned. Just look at another organization that had huge influence and secrets. It was involved in government at almost every level in the North East and has its roots in Italy. But, the power of the Mafia was long ago smashed in the US. That conspiracy grew out of prohibition, but it didn’t survive the 20th Century. It started in the 1920’s and by the end of the 1980s the Mafia was a minor criminal force in the US. That is what happens to conspiracies.

I could be wrong and the Free Masons could control the US government and other huge conspiracies may exist, but any conspiracy about hiding life on Mars is just too minor to even consider.

The Masons never hoarded truths about the Bible. You have been reading "Holy Blood Holy Grail" and related works or worse, "The Da Vinci Code". At least HBHG occasionally admitted that the idea was speculative. TDVC is novelistic twaddle and is just "The Bourne Identity" meets HBHG.

Tens, if not hundreds of thousands of men around the world have been admitted to the higher reaches of Freemasonry since the organisation began more than 250 years ago, and probably millions more have been ordinary members. Yet none have blown the whistle on the Earth shattering secrets they are supposed to know about.

The Masons are basically a self-help and self improvement club with a nod to a creator God. If you knew a bit more about their decentralisation you would realise that big secrets are something the Masons could not keep. You might as well accuse Rotary or Apex clubs of the same sort of things.

I really don't think so. Anyone working for NASA could get rich by leaking the info.

Not that I believe this, but it was funny and has to do with this: I saw this movie at an interactive science museum and at the end there was this little guy going around holding a picture of rocks up to the camera of the Mars rover. It was a stupid little cartoon, of course.

And there can't be life on Mars. Mars is a dead planet with no magnetic field and almost no atmosphere. Back when it had both, there might have been life-and structures-but unless the structures were built amazingly well, they wouldn't have survived the one or two billion years of solar radiation and wear and tear.

Also, some of the rocks look like structures. But they are definitely rocks. There are plenty of rocks on earth that look like structures, why not some on Mars?

All so called structures have been photographed by high resolution cameras. So NASA does a job in additionally taking pictures in these areas on public demand.

i can't really understand why people think there's someone in the government holding back information of some sort along with space exploration.
The lack of information you might experience is the result of limited funding, cause it simply makes more sense for the nation to keep the road you are using in good shape than hunting down 'alien structures' which only exist in peoples imagination.

NASA have already released higher resolution pictures of the areas where alleged constructions and features (eg. the Martian "face") were located on earlier (and fuzzier) photographs.

It's really up to you whether you believe this information or whether you want to spend the rest of your life in a conspiratorial haze.

I am, however, struggling to understand how you would act differently if there were structures on Mars?

The same areas were also photographed by hte russians and the haven´t said anything. But maybe they were working with the US during the coldwar... Nevermind. The Chinese have declared their intent to map 'every inch' of the lunar surface. If you don´t believe NASA, the soviet union or me maybe the Chinese, having no responsibilty towards NASA or the russians (or me), might set your aching brain at ease. The Chinese will not only publish their findings if they find aliens structures on the moon. They will claim them for themselves...
