the earth spins exactly 1.0186757215 times in a 24 hour period. The earth spins exactly one time in about 23 hours and 56 minutes. This is why we have a leap year. It adds one day to the calendar every four years. Hope this helps.

The Q asks how many times does the Earth spin in one day - not how long is one day. So, irrespective whether a day is 23hrs56mins, 24 hours or, indeed 273 years - the answer is still "one".

I think you are trying us with this question, the fact is 1 time, the 24 hour cycle when a day ends and the next one starts can be taken as reference.
