No doubt his image is ruined, and with all his own doing.
The actions of Mr Goodell have recieved high praises of approval nationwide. His primary reasoning for his disciplinary actions against Michael Vick are in accordance with the NFL guidelines and rules of misconduct. The severity of his punishment will not be to save the NFL image, but rather a constant reminder to Mr. Vick and every football player of who's in charge now. He is still in the process of establishing himself as one tough commissioner not to be messed with, with much success, I might add. The NFL image is safe and sound and still the most popular among sports enthusiasts and collectors nationwide...

...as far as investors are concerned, the value of Vicks rookie cards may go down due to the continuing decline of interest in his cards and memorabilia

Just Vick, once the NFL indefinitely suspended him... I think the NFL disassociated with him for more money-making reasons than morality issues, but protecting your company's assets legally is nothing new. He screwed himself, what an idiot!!! He had all that going for him. There are plenty other decent members of the NFL, why should they have to pay for his mistakes????
I don't even blame the NFL (the players or the execs). Vick is an adult and should be held responsible for his own behavior... People always say that the NFL is sooo violent... If you take a random number of people out of society, you're gonna get a few immoral numbskulls no matter where ya pick 'em. People expect these players to subscribe to a higher moral code because they make all this money... You have to realize, before the NFL, most of these guys grew up with the same problems everyone else did. ...So it never really surprises me when I hear of an NFL player in a situation like this. I just feel bad for all the kids out there who actually look up to these guys for years and then get majorly disappointed!!!

Michael Vick never had an image except for thug lovers. He has always been a very fast runner playing doll-house QB. The NFL goes the extra yard to promote any black QB beyond his capabilities because of marketing. Marketing has controled sports for a long time now. It doesn't matter how good you are, it matters how many freaking shoes you sell! Black people in general, spend about 10 times as much money as white people do representing their sports stars. Do you think it is just a coinsidence that Michael Jordan was allowed to take 5-6 steps without travelling? That if you played any kind of defense against him - they would foul you out? It is because Jordan sells billions of dollars of over-priced shoes to people who will do drive-by killings just to get them! Mike Vick is a much less talented version of Jordan. Vick filled the stands of black racist majority Atlanta because he is a black QB. It is the ONLY reason Vick is a QB. Chris Chandler took the Falcons to the Super Bowl and still didn't pack the stands. Greg Maddox, Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, etc. have defined excellence in baseball for 15 straight years - but they didn't pack the stands like a marginal QB like Vick did- can you guess why?.......I think you see the picture now!

No, the NFL has suspended him indef, and that meets with the approval of most. Of course Vick's image is ruined. I really hope that he gets the psychological help he so obviously needs and tries to become a better person. As far as football goes, I'm sure he's done. He won't be back.

It hurts the NFL as a whole to some extent because it's obvious that Vick is not an aberration in the NFL. I'd be AMAZED if there were not other NFL players involved in the same type of activities.

I think this year's offseason has really damaged the NFL's dignity, several players going to trial, one a murder case. Michael Vick's trial is probably going to affect ratings and it has already killed his career. Even if he is allowed to come back, he will be mocked, ridiculed, and spat on by fans as he enters the arena. He is done and the NFL will have a tough time recovering from this.

The events will only ruin the NFL's image if they choose to do nothing about Vick.
So far they have taken a half assed stand about what Vick has done.
They need to come out and not just suspend him, they need to fire him permanently from the NFL.
They also need to start holding their players (not just Vick) accountable for their actions.
I don't expect professional athletes to be a role model necessarily, but I do expect them NOT to be a detriment to society.

Vick's already hated by the Football community. He wasn't that great of a player(at least in my opinion) to begin with-- and now his reputation is ruined.
But what about Bryant?
He raped a girl(and is a ball hog), yet the NBA made no response to this.

It has affected the NFL's image...That is why Vick is suspended indefinitely...not to mention he flat out lied to the face of the commissioner and the Falcons owner...and now the commissioner is irritated...Vick won't be back in the NFL...

the NFL did something. I think that's what the court of public opinion wanted.
It will hurt vick. Wait for the book, and maybe a movie.
