My daughter left a cookie on the floor last night , when I got up this morning there were these tiny light colored ants? They look exactly like ants , only they are really small. I cleaned everything , now I keep noticing them everywhere!! I am going insane they are taking over my life and I feel like I have an insect invasion going on!! I am a really clean person and I am having a hard time dealing with this, what the h*ll should I do to get rid of the bastards? Keep in mind , they are pretty small, that is the worst part about it. It really freaking me out!Has anyone ever seen tiny ants before? I dont know if this helps , but I live in the U.P of Michigan.

I moved from NY where all I had ever seen were brown, red or black ants - to NC where 3 weeks after moving into an apt. last year I had hundreds of little grey ants crawling all over my grey countertop when I came back from picking up my mail.

Of course I called the office & they said they'd send a guy around with ant traps (he didn't show until the next day!), but the place had just been exterminated 1 week before I moved in.

Luckily, once I calmed down, I remembered my grandma's old home remedy for getting rid of ants - Vinegar & water !!
Yep, that's right ! Put 1 cup of vinegar in a gallon of water & spray or wipe it on the area where the ants are tracking & its like they can no longer smell their route home, get dried up & fall over dead.

This won't kill any in the nest, however, so perhaps first, you should put down a few ant traps so some can carry that poison home to the next first, then use the vinegar & water the next day.

Good luck !!!

I also have pets and just recently had an ant problem. I tried a sprays and ant baits. Neither of those worked. The ants just walked around where I had sprayed and never went in the traps. I asked around and a friend recommended Combat ant killing gel. I found some at a local hardware store and it worked great. I was amazed at how attracted the ants were to the gel and then how fast they died after eating the gel. And my pets were not at all interested in the gel.

Try to find a product named TERRO. You place a drop or two on small cardboard and lay them around. Soon the ants will be gone. It is about a 4 oz. bottle and will last for years. I usually find it in hardware stores. Good luck.
