yes it takes all coins, but it takes a percentage of your money. It would be best to go to a bank and you can get coin wraps and you can roll them yourself, it takes some time but you get all of your money.

I love the Kennedy half dollar. Its has the heft of real money, not light and flimsy like a quarter or that awful dollar coins that feels like a quarter. It has great detail in the sculpting of the president. And also, it immortalizes the one president in our moderen times that had great potential, even more than Clinton ever had in his prime. The world would of been a better place if he had lived to make it a better place, he had the vision and the nerve to do what was right for all americans and for the world too. But fanatics took him away - the same fanatics that are running this country now. Who really don't care that the world we have now is dying, deny it it you must, but the facts are in the news, a little here a little there it all adds up. J. F. Kennedy would of made a difference I think.

It takes all coins. Dump your coins in & it prints out a "receipt" that says how much you put in (it may break down how much there was of each coin, but it has been a long time since I've done this), take the receipt to either customer service or a cashier & they give you cash. Coin Star takes a very small percentage. It is worth it to not have to roll them all & take them to a bank. It is really simple, if you have any problems, just ask a cashier or someone who works in the store.
Good luck!

Coinstar charges you for the service I think it's 8% but I don't remember exactly. At that rate you will get 55.20 for your 60.00 No need to separate your coins, it will take any denomination. You just pour in the coins and it will print a ticket for the total amount less the comission they charge. Wherever it is that you found the machine, (grocery store etc.) will pay you that amount immediately.

Here, Netherlands, most small shops love to get the small change, count them, put them in a thin plastic bag per coin, like 200 nickels in each bag, and they either weight them (butchers) or accept your counting (stores where they know you and when they do not have scales,) some places also accept them when they do not know you, if you come at a quiet time you just buy something in the shop and pay with just coins, they count them for you.

If you have small local shops where you come, talk about it, it is much better than an 8% rate.

It's VERY simple... it takes all US currency. The "holes" aren't for the coins to go through, but to sift out garbage. The instructions are right there on their machine.

Directly from their website: "How It Works

You Give Us Coins, We Give You Cash™
Coinstar's patented self-service kiosk is easy and fun to use. Just pour in your jar of mixed coins and watch them add up. The Coinstar Center accurately counts up to 600 coins per minute, saving you the time and effort of counting, sorting, or rolling. When you cash in at a retail store you'll get a voucher to redeem for cash at the store checkout or apply to your purchases.

In the U.S., the fee for our coin counting service is 8.9 cents per dollar counted (9.8 cents Canada). Retailers or financial institutions may choose to discount this fee."

Don't use coinstar. Go to Commerce Bank and use the Penny Arcade. Coinstar takes money from you. If you have no other alternative, coinstar does take quarters.

it takes all coins. dump them a little at a time in the bin, lift the bin and they slide through the slot. the machine counts the coins, deducts a service charge (about 8%). press the finished button and it prints out a slip that you take to the register for cash.
