Yes, because it needs to be up-kept and unfortunately sometimes it can't be done. I have a close girlfriend that we've known since 1989 and we never talk on the phone or meet anywhere but we still remain best friends. Thank God for that! I feel so fortunate that she is like me in that regard. She is taking care of her mother and works full time but she knows if she needs me, I will always be here for her or any of her family at any time I am needed and she has shown me time and time again that she has been here for my family and for me, whenever it has been needed. But for most friendships it needs to be a work of art in order for the friendship to continue. I wish that friends would be more like my close girlfriend but it usually doesn't happen that way. It needs a work of art for the friendship to survive. I love my girlfriend, like my own sister, and vice versa. (My own sister and I, also, do not correspond often, but love each other dearly!)

I believe that a "true" friendship, which doesn't happen often, is a work of art. A very unique work of art indeed. For when you have a "true" friendship there are 2 artist always trying to make the picture better than what it was to begin with or it is true beauty always.

Friendship is indeed a work of art.
It is like a painting: If the proper medium is chosen, and the palette prepared with care, then everything is ready, all that is left is for the brush to be handled with skill and a gentle hand, thereby producing something beautiful that will last a lifetime, if not longer.

I am not sure if it is a true way of life yet. However, it does help me relieve stress or anger, concentrate better on my schoolwork and I gave up my PS3 for extra lessons (with no regrets, whatsoever!) which meant I am not the gaming addict I once was. The people there are also very nice and I feel that I can talk to them about anything! :)

No it is not. Art needs concentration and needs you to be aware of everything you do. Friendship is beter when it is based on spontaneouty

Some are.
Some are just held together by inspiration waiting for the world to recognize them for what they are.
